Your First Visit to Our Elk Grove Practice

You’ll be warmly welcomed and made to feel at home. Help is on its way!

On your first visit, my staff will help you fill out paperwork and take any insurance information you have so that they can contribute to your care. You will be exposed to some information to better understand what we are trying to accomplish regarding subluxations in your spine and how to address them. Then you we will take a complete history from you and do an exam.

You will meet the doctor who will discuss your concerns and begin to map out a plan to treat you. We may do x-rays with our state-of -the art computerized digital x-ray system and/or a nerve scan with our Myovision unit. The first visit should take 45 minutes to an hour. A second visit will be scheduled usually for the next day so the doctor will have time to review your x-rays and studies and formulate a plan just for you.

Dr. Douglas Asks some important questions of interest to Elk Grove residents - Chiropractor Elk Grove Dr. Douglas Asks...

What's the difference between sick care and health care?
Sick care is largely about relieving or suppressing symptoms. Health care is about improving performance. While sick care is about how you feel, health care is about how you function. Sick care is what you do to treat an obvious problem, and health care is what you do to avoid the problem and advance your well-being.
Where do most Elk Grove residents get their first subluxation?
Being born in a hospital is a common source of subluxation. Trauma from forceps delivery has been replaced with drugs, vacuum extraction, Cesarean section and births that are "scheduled" to fit the workweek routines of Ob-Gyns. That's why we recommend a chiropractic checkup for every Elk Grove newborn.
